i can't believe i didn't post since last thursday!!! here are some SUPER interesting things i did this weekend:
- cut some contact paper stencils for my screenprinting class at MCAD
- hung out at my local public library
- hosted a camp rock/rock band birthday party for jilly (belated), dana (early) and milo (also early); served devilled eggs and puppy chow
- went and saw WALL-E (and LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVED it)
- got our rock band disc fixed at discland (where else?) as we had partied too hard and wrecked the game (*OR* xbox 360 has MAJOR ISSUES that you can read about here)
- found a new chinese buffet for chris
- read kt's lovely italian blog
- took a siesta (not to be confused with a power nap nor a cat nap)
excitement to the Xtreme??? i think so. hopefully you've now learned some new facts through all my links too. YOU'RE WELCOME.

fogo de chris
we went to fogo de chao for carter's goodbye dinner (sad) and it was too delicious and filling that even chris ate below par. but as he pointed out, it IS only thursday and we all have to work tomorrow...who wants to go to work with a meat hangover?
i drew this pic of chris when we got home...too bad it looks like a family circus [billy takes over for his dad edition] reject. oh well. a full tummy does that to your hand-eye coordination.

everybody loves cuff bracelets
rock band has taken over my life! but who can blame me, doesn't everyone secretly wish they were a rockstar??? i wish i had some sweet cuff bracelets that i could wear while playing. all my friends who have received "hand-made" cuff bracelets from me are SOOOOO lucky. oh wait.
they definitely looked nothing like these awesome cuff bracelets i found on xusah's etsy shop--the design on this particular one is from a photo of an old tree stump:
ps. good job picking such a beautiful hand model! i feel like my fingers must look like ratty sticks compared to theirs.

stamp it up
i saw this ring today on poppytalk (who was actually linked from stylesight) and i LOVE it! what a smart idea to have a handy phrase literally available at your fingertips. i still always love rubber stamps, especially word ones. the designer is colleen baran, and there are other really great non-text items on her website too.

california dreamin'
signs pointing to the fact that we should [win the lottery and/or somehow receive an inheritance to] move to the west coast:
1. michelle and jayson have assured us that emmett would love playing with milo and we actually believe them. for milo's well-being, we should really be as close to them as possible.
2. my mentor at work just went on a trip to palo alto to visit IDEO. we then discussed how great it was that IDEO and Google are so close together. maybe chris and IDEO/Google should also be in that close of proximity.
3. after going to IKEA with mike and dana, i thought of the coconut records song "west coast" for absolutely NO REASON AT ALL. i think this means the ocean was calling my name.
ok, they're really random. but hey, signs are still signs.
fig. 1 potential bff milo + emmett, fig. 2 IDEO studio library, fig. 3 nighttiming album art, fig. 4 me + chris [happily] in SF

baby teeth monsters
i biked home today from the bus station and it was SO nice outside! i don't know what it was, but something about the super sunny and beautiful day and riding my bike made me want to draw something cute when i got home. i think it might have also helped that our dining room table was clean and welcoming...MAYBE.
i started off with smiling blobs (big surprise) but then ended up with cute little monsters (big surprise) with baby teeth and wings. Here they are, ready to be loved:

lil green bunny
i made this friend a couple months ago from some jersey scraps left over from sewing a skirt out of a men's tee. i have a couple requests to make more, but so far he's a loner due to work taking over my life. i'm hoping that since i have to clear off our dining room table for jayson and michelle's visit (tomorrow, yay!) it will motivate me to use the free space to make some more little guys.
he had a good time climbing trees today--it was exceptionally lovely out for how crazy our weather has been this spring/summer.
