here fishy fishy... (and happy belated july!)

we've had record-breaking heat waves in denmark this summer and the beaches have been packed even more than usual. in case you're not near a coast, the august desktop i've designed will bring the fish to you. inspired by vintage scandinavian dishtowels, i've always loved the simplicity of fish artwork...perhaps because i'm a pisces?

also, july was a fun-filled, busy month, filled with my mother visiting, chris traveling to the states (double chocolate milano cookies!) and a fantastic summer holiday to switzerland, france and italy, which was sooo lovely. however, i am now belatedly posting maeve's super adorable seagull artwork, so make sure to download it as well!

hello summer!

summer is nearly here, so maeve and i have both been enjoying the sunshine and visits to the beach. (we are both near the atlantic ocean...though of course, VERY far apart ;)

i am very excited to share our june desktop, designed by yours truly, and my favorite one i did this year. hope your new desktop friend makes you happy and brings a bit of the sea right to your computer!

april fools

for april, our calendar had the only fictional animal of the bunch--the elusive jackalope! i learned that some of our european followers had never even heard of this creature, someone told me they thought we had just put antlers onto a bunny "just because" haha. since living abroad, it's been interesting learning how so many things that you feel are common, everyday "facts," are completely unknown to other cultures around the world.

like a lion

march this year definitely came in like a [really angry] lion when we were stateside, but luckily when we got back to copenhagen it's been fairly spring-like most of the time. what is the weather like where you are? depending where, march might also be leaving like a lion...but april is just around the corner, so here's hoping more sunny days are ahead! maeve designed this totally ad-roar-able (GET IT??? ;) lion for our march desktops, links below!

i designed this flockette of scandi-inspired birds to start off my half of the 2014 calendar collaboration. they are either sitting atop snow or white confetti...depends how mad at mother nature you are this year. i am SOOO excited to reveal the 2014 calendar collaboration from maeve and i! we had so much fun brainstorming and designing animal friends to adorn your walls. we added space on the printed calendar for notes and made the desktop backgrounds easier on the eyes so your icons no longer get lost. thanks so much to everyone for the calendar love, it makes us happy how involved and excited you are, hugs and high fives from both sides of the sea!

2014 calendar theme

maeve and i are excited to announce that our 2014 calendar collaboration theme will be...ANIMALS!!! i cannot wait to get started, animals are sooo much fun to draw. to help us out, please let us know your favorite animals, and fill out our short (seriously, SHORT) survey about what you liked or would love to see this year. maeve has designed the sweetest calendar for april--cheerful colors and a fun "bow-tie" pattern! i can totally picture this pattern on a cute crisp cotton springtime dress paired with coral suede oxfords. or maybe on a thermos with a light aqua strap, ready to be carried to the nearest park for a picnic :)

it's february...!!!

what?! your calendar says it's february 13th and not february 1st like mine??? how strange, it's not like this february calendar download is coming to you a bit late or anything.
